Adding a Homeowner Charge
Adding a Homeowner Charge
To add a charge:
Select Homeowner > Transaction History. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Residents > Transaction History.
Search for and select the desired association and homeowner.
Click New to display the Post Transaction screen.
Complete the fields as follows:
Assessment: Must be selected; select the assessment to which the charge should be applied.
Type: Charge.
Apply To: (All by Level) unless late fee, collection fee or interest is being added.
Year: Default is Auto; update if the charge should be applied in a past or future fiscal year.
Description: Default is the assessment description. Add detail if available.
Date: Can be current date, past or future date as applicable. For accrual associations, keep in mind that the charge date will be the GL transaction date for income. Charges should not be applied in a closed fiscal period.
Batch: Select an existing batch or click the + button to generate a new batch. Group similar charges for the same date together in a batch. Choose separate batches for complex adjustments so the batch can be deleted if necessary.
Amount: Enter charge amount.
Ref No: Not applicable for charges—leave blank.
Click Save.
NOTE: A Manual Posting batch is created and must be manually posted. Select Homeowners > Batch Posting. Find and review batch and adjust as needed. Batch Close Date should be the charge date (for past or current charges) or the current date (for future charges). If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > Daily > Batch Posting.
