Finalizing the Budget in Cephai

Finalizing the Budget in Cephai

After reviewing and editing your budget, the final step is to make it the official budget for your association. Before posting, take time to confirm that all budget items have been reviewed, all recommended changes have been evaluated, and the final numbers accurately reflect your organization's financial plans, this helps reduce errors and ensures the budget is ready for implementation. Once posted, it becomes the active budget in CINC for the selected fiscal year.

Completing the Final Review

Before posting, perform one final review to confirm the budget is complete and accurate. Verify that:

  • All budget items have been reviewed, flagged accounts resolved, and any outstanding issues addressed.

  • AI recommendations, necessary adjustments, and significant changes have been evaluated.

  • Supporting documents have been uploaded and analyzed.

  • Assessment amounts are correct.

  • Actuals have been refreshed, if needed.

  • If multiple scenarios exist, they've been compared and the desired one selected as final.

Taking a few minutes for this review helps reduce the likelihood of overlooking something before the budget becomes official.

Posting the Budget

When you're satisfied with the budget, you're ready to post it.

  1. Once everything is complete and all items are marked as Reviewed, click Post.

  2. On the Regenerate insights first? popup, do one of the following:

    • Click Regenerate Insights to update insights first.

    • Click Export anyway to skip the update.

Posting makes the selected budget the official budget for the fiscal year, publishing it to CINC and completing the budgeting process. Budgets created in the Cephai Task Center flow into CINC before this final step, and once posted, your budget data continues to stay in sync between the two systems automatically, so there's no manual reconciliation, changes made in one system show up in the other. You can only un-post a budget directly in CINC. AI-generated recommendations remain part of the budgeting history for reference.
