Downloading the Check Scanner Application
The Check Scanner Client is check scanning software that integrates scanned check processing with CINC partner banks.
NOTE: Only one check scanner can be installed on a computer and requires a computer running a x64-based operating system. Ensure you have installation permission on the computer (contact your system administrator for assistance if needed).
Confirm the computer is running a x64-based operating system by selecting Search > System Information. (The path may differ depending on the type of computer.) If you are using universal navigation, click Search > System Information.
Confirm the most recent Window's updates have been installed by selecting Search / Settings / Windows Update. (The path may differ depending on the type of computer.) This ensures that the drivers and software are installed correctly and prevents Windows from installing generic or incorrect drivers automatically.
If you already have a scanner connected to your computer, disconnect the scanner from the computer and unplug scanner from power outlet.
Uninstall any previous scanner software and drivers by selecting Search > Add Or Remove Programs. (The path may differ depending on the type of computer.) If you are using universal navigation, click Search > Add Or Remove Programs.
Select Tools > Client Downloads in CINC Accounting. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > General > Client Downloads.
Select your preferred check scanner application and click Download. The software installation/executable file will be saved to the download folder.
Right-click on the .exe file and select "Run as administrator" to install the check scanner software.
NOTE: You may see a blank screen during the installation. This is normal and can last several minutes and appears to be hanging while the system finishes in the background. If this happens, minimize the installation Window and wait until you see the message that the installation is complete.
Once the installation is complete, connect scanner to computer and plug scanner to power outlet.
