Posting Bank Returns

Posting bank returns is available only for clients who bank with an AI (Accounting Integrators) partner bank. They will get emails notifying them of returned payments. If not banking with an AI (Accounting Integrators) partner bank, the bank will send notifications via normal methods. CINC-only customers will not see bank returns in CINC Accounting.

NOTE:

Prior to posting a bank return, posting a return as a reconciling item must be done on the homeowner’s ledger in Homeowners > Transaction History screen. This removes the payment from the homeowner’s ledger and puts a reconciliation entry into the bank account register. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Residents > Transaction History.

To post a bank return:

  1. Select Banking > Bank Returns. The Bank Returns screen displays a list of returned payments. If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > Daily > Bank Returns.

  2. If needed, change the date range in the From and To fields and the Display option.

  3. Click Refresh.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the item, then click Post to record the date and user’s name of who completed the return.

  5. If applicable, add an NSF/returned check fee to the homeowner’s ledger and post the batch. (See Entering and Posting Homeowner Charges)
