Setting User Preferences

Settings specific to the logged in user are set on User Preferences screen.

NOTE: You must have Update Security Permission to edit the information on the User Preferences screen.

Updating Personal Information

The User Preferences > Personal Information screen is used to update contact information for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). From this screen, you can also update your password. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences.

  1. Select System > User Preferences or click on your name in the left-side navigation menu. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences.

  2. On the User Preferences / Personal Information screen, edit the following as needed:

    • Name: User’s first and last name.

    • Initial: User's initials.

    • Email: User’s email address that is used for email notifications and MFA.

    • Current Password: User’s current password.

    • New Password/Confirm Password: User’s new password.

  3. Click Save.

Setting Layouts and Styles

The User Preferences > Layout & Styles screen is used to control styling color options and left side navigation menu order that are specific to the logged in user. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences (Layout & Styles tab).

  1. Select System > User Preferences or click on your name in the left-side navigation menu. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences.

  2. Click the Layout & Styles tab.

  3. Edit the following information as needed:

    • Link Options: Select the Font Color and the On Hover Font Color options.

    • Required Field Options: Select the Font Color option.

    • Data Entry Error Options: Select the Field Background Color option.

    • Background Color: Select the Background Color option.

    • Side Bar: Use the arrows to order the Section Display Order of the left side navigation menu.

  4. Click Save.

Editing Module Settings

The User Preferences / Module Settings screen is used to control settings for various modules in CINC Accounting such as the Homeowner Transaction History and Invoicing.

  1. Select System > User Preferences or click on your name in the left-side navigation menu. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences.

  2. Click the Module Settings tab.

  3. Edit the following information as needed:

    • Default Show: Select the default of how the listing of transactions on the Homeowners > Transaction History screen will display. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Residents > Transaction History.

    • Default View: Select the default view of transactions on the Homeowners > Transaction History screen. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Residents > Transaction History.

      • Charge Grouping: Displays transactions as groupings by assessment type.

      • Payments Only: Displays homeowner payments by default.

      • Transactions by Date: Displays the transactions by date.

      • Transaction Notes: Displays transaction notes by default.

    • Activity From Start: Select the default listing of activity on the Homeowners > Transaction History screen. Options include beginning with the current calendar year, 6 months back, or 12 months back. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Residents > Transaction History.

    • Duplicate Range: Set the number of days for which an invoice cannot be duplicated. If an invoice has the same date, number, and amount within this timeframe, the user will be alerted. The system default is 30 days.

    • Display Last Vendor Checks: Set the number of previous checks displayed at a time per vendor. Up to 20 transactions may be displayed at a time. CINC recommends displaying a minimum of three checks.

    • Assign Invoice Default Zoom: Select the preferred zoom size for invoices.

    • Auto-Display Image: Toggle on to display invoice image on the Vendors > Pending Approvals Image screen. If you are using universal navigation, click Payables > Invoices > Pending Approvals (image).

  4. Click Save.

Setting Notifications

The User Preferences / Notifications screen is used to set notifications for call logs, message center, and reporting.

  1. Select System > User Preferences or click on your name in the left-side navigation menu. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > Preferences > User Preferences.

  2. Click the Notifications tab.

  3. Toggle on to Enable email notifications for call logs, message center, and reporting as needed.

  4. Click Save.
