Bank Accounts

  1. Select Banking > Bank Accounts. The Bank Accounts screen displays the bank accounts provided to CINC that have been imported. If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > Settings > Bank Accounts.

  2. Set up new bank account by selecting New.

  3. Complete the following fields for checking, money market, and savings accounts, then click Save:

    • Description: Enter the bank name as the first part, the type of account, and the last four digits of the account number (e.g., FSB-Operating-1234).

    • Active: Determines if the bank account is active.

    • Cash Account: Where to record deposits for this account in the general ledger. Enter a partial name or number or leave blank and click Search.

    • Interest Account: Required only if the account is interest-bearing. Enter a partial name or number or leave blank and click Search.

    • Bank: Name of the bank in which this account is located.

    • Interest Rate: Enter a percent amount for the account’s interest rate.

    • Type: Select the bank account Type. This can be changed later. However, once a bank account type is switched to CD, it cannot be changed.

    • Account Number

    • Beginning Balance: The balance at the time of account creation in CINC Accounting. See section Bank Account Register.

    • Balance Date: The date of the beginning balance.

    • Depository: Enable if deposits will be made with this account.

    • Reserve: Enable if this is a reserve account.

    • Next Check Number: Use either the last check number from the previous system (incremented by 1) or use a new number incrementing the last check number by 1000.

    • Next Deposit Number: Use either the last deposit slip number from the old system (incremented by 1) or use a new number incrementing the last deposit slip number by 1000.

    • Alert Minimum Balance: Works in conjunction with system alerts. Will alert if balance dips below the indicated amount.

    • Max Signature Amount: Enter the maximum dollar amount of a check that you wish to print a digital signature for.

    • User Defined Informatio: Set up as user-defined fields under System > User Defined Fields. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > General > User Defined Fields.

  4. Complete the following fields for CDs, then click Save:

    • Description: Enter the bank name as the first part, the type of account, and the last four digits of the account number (e.g., FSB-Operating-1234).

    • Active: Indicates if bank account is still in use. The account will no longer show up on list of accounts if toggled off.

    • Cash Account: Where to record deposits for this account in the general ledger. Enter a partial name or number or leave blank and click Search.

    • Interest Account: Required only if the account is interest-bearing. Enter a partial name or number or leave blank and click Search.

    • Bank: Name of the bank in which this account is located.

    • Interest Rate: Enter a percent amount for the account’s interest rate.

    • Type: Select the bank account Type. This can be changed later. However, once a bank account type is switched to CD, it cannot be changed.

    • Term: Select the term month amount.

    • Account Number

    • Maturity Date: Select the maturity date using the calendar.

    • Beginning Balance: The balance at the time of account creation in CINC Accounting. (See Bank Account Register.)

    • Balance Date: The date of the beginning balance.

    • Reserve: Enable if this is a reserve account.

    • User Defined Information: Set up as user-defined fields under System > User Defined Fields. If you are using universal navigation, click Settings > General > User Defined Fields.
