Journal Entries

Select Accounting > Journal Entries. Except for entering beginning GL balances for reporting, it is unnecessary to create a journal entry in CINC Accounting because when entries are posted, the transaction is recorded on the homeowner’s ledger and the GL entry is created at the same time. Manual journal entries posted from this screen to a bank account (A/R or A/P) will cause the account to be out of balance in CINC Accounting. If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > General Ledger > Add A New Entry.

If there are previously saved entries, bring them up under the Saved Entries dropdown. Save beginning balances for all communities that are brought into CINC by pressing Save after making entries. Debits and credits must be balanced in order to post an entry.

Journal Entries

If financial reports are run and there are errors, select Accounting > GL History, find the highlighted manual journal entry, click on the Ref No, and delete it. Then go back to the Journal Entry screen, correct the problem, save, and repost it. If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > General Ledger > History.
