Managing Chatbot Settings in Connect Admin

You can customize how the chatbot displays and communicates with Connect users. Changes apply to the exact text homeowners see, so review carefully before saving.

Follow these steps to customize the chatbot settings:

  1. In CINC with universal navigation, go to Settings > General > Cephai chat settings.

Note: If Cephai chat settings doesn’t display, one of the following may be the reason:

    • Permissions: Your Admin Role may not include access to chatbot settings. Review the security group assigned to your admin account and update its permissions.

    • Settings: Cephai Chat may not be enabled for your organization, or your organization may not be using CINC with universal navigation. Confirm that both are in place.

    • Rollout status: Cephai Chat is released in phases, so it may not yet be available for your organization. Contact your CINC representative or CSM to confirm your rollout status.

  2. The Chatbot Customization page displays. Enter the Chat name. This is the name users see whenever the chatbot displays.

  3. Enter the AI disclaimer. This is the short disclosure (maximum of 250 characters) that displays above the first message, letting users know responses come from AI.

  4. Enter an Example greeting. Provide sample wording for how Cephai should open the conversation. A best practice is to keep it short and tell users what Cephai can help with.

  5. Enter an Example “I don’t know” response. Provide sample wording for when Cephai can’t answer. A best practice is to include the community manager’s name and contact information, so users know where to turn.

  6. Preview your changes and use the Expanded/Collapsed toggle and Desktop/Mobile/Inline views to see how the chat box displays to visitors once embedded.

  7. Click the Overrides tab.

  8. The Association Overrides page displays. This is used to customize or turn off the chatbot for individual associations. Overrides take precedence over your global settings.

    1. Use the Search associations field to find a specific association by name.

    2. Click the Edit icon to edit the messaging for that specific association, overriding the global setup. You can also select/clear the Disable chat for this association checkbox to turn the chatbot on or off for that one association without affecting others.

    3. Click Save override.

  9. Click Save changes to publish, Cancel to discard, or Reset to Defaults to revert all fields.
