Managing Violation Fines

Once a violation escalates into a level that assesses a fine, the fine requires approval.

Approving a Violation Fine

  1. Select CCR > Pending Violation Fines. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Violations > Pending Fines.

  2. Search for and select the desired association or all associations.

  3. Select Violations Pending Approval in the View dropdown.

  4. If needed, edit the Start On date, fine amount, and frequency.

  5. When ready to approve the fine, select the checkbox next to the violation fine and click Approve.

NOTE: After fine approval, the system generates a batch, and the fee appears on the homeowner’s ledger the next day. The batch then requires review and posting from the Homeowners > Batch Posting screen to apply it to the homeowner's ledger. (see Posting a Batch) If you are using universal navigation, click Accounting > Daily > Batch Posting.

Declining a Violation Fine

  1. Select CCR > Pending Violation Fines. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Violations > Pending Fines.

  2. Search for and select the desired association or all associations.

  3. Select Violations Pending Approval in the View field.

  4. Select the checkbox next to that violation to decline and click Decline. Declined violation fines will appear when Violations w/o Fines is selected in the View field.

    Stopping a Violation Fine

    Follow these steps to stop the violation fine process on a fine that has been approved.

    1. Select CCR > Pending Violation Fines. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Violations > Pending Fines.

    2. Search for and select the desired association or all associations.

    3. Select Violations w/Active Fines in the View field.

    4. Select Stop Violation Fine in the Action field.

    5. Select the checkbox next to the fine to stop and click Save.

      This will halt all future fines for this violation.

    Restarting Violation Fines

    Follow these steps to restart violation fines that have been stopped.

    1. Select CCR > Pending Violation Fines. If you are using universal navigation, click Residents > Violations > Pending Fines.

    2. Search for and select the desired association or all associations.

    3. Select Violations w/Stopped Fines in the View field.

    4. Select Reset Violation to Pending Status in the Action field.

    5. Select the checkbox next to the fine to restart and click Save.

      Restarted violation fines will appear when Violations Pending Approval is selected in the View field. The violation fine can be approved again by following the approval steps (See Approving a Violation Fine).
