Offline Mode Functionality in CINC Manager

NOTE: Access to this functionality is controlled by Security Permissions in CINC. If you are unable to access certain aspects of this function, contact your administrator to ensure your permissions are set correctly.

CINC Manager can download associations to a device to be accessed later for offline use if the device has limited data connectivity.

Customized settings and protections manage memory size and performance on user devices. This ensures data is not corrupted when entered/synced.

The app will automatically detect when a device is offline and refreshes the screen to show only the user’s downloaded associations. You will know the current state of the app by viewing the Online/Offline toggle in the top right of the screen.

While offline, you will be able to perform all actions necessary to complete inspections as you normally would if your device were online. The app will alert you when a change has been made to the offline database of a downloaded property and remind you to sync the association when back online.

NOTE: If changes have been made to the offline database and the device goes back online while still within a downloaded association, you will be automatically redirected back to the Association Screen. All properties with a sync pending status will be locked while in Online Mode, and you cannot access them until they sync their changes or delete the offline copy.

When you return online, a notification letting you know of your successful changes appears.

If you have lost your internet connection and entered Offline Mode, you will receive a notification when a network connection becomes available.

There are a few important things to know before starting to download:

  • To reduce the file size of the offline database, users can delete or sync their current offline data or choose a smaller selection of data to download. More information on these options is provided below.

  • If an association is downloaded and accessed while the device is online, the accessed version WILL ALWAYS be the cloud version rather than the local downloaded version. The local version is available only when the device is in offline mode.

NOTE: When inspecting a neighborhood with a known weak signal, CINC recommends downloading the association first, then toggling to offline mode during the inspection. When the device detects a weak signal, this will prevent it from attempting to access the cloud version of the association rather than the offline version on the device.

  • While the device is in offline mode, certain settings and functionality will be inaccessible.

  • Emailing Violations and Work Orders will store a draft of the email if utilizing these screens in offline mode. The drafted emails will be sent when the association is synced.

  • Association downloads only contain the 10 most recent Work Order attachments.

  • Signing out and back in will NOT delete downloaded associations from a device if the same user signs back in. However, if associations have been downloaded on the device and a different user signs back in, those downloaded associations will be deleted and cannot be recovered. The app will alert the user if a sign-out is attempted when downloaded associations exist in the offline database.
